BioI am a 24 year old Libra and I live with my partner Skandrannan. We recently moved to Rogers, Arkansas from Lancaster, California. I was born in California, grew up there, and went to school in Bakersfield, California. I have never lived any place else so the move out-of-state has been a wonderful adventure.
Skan and I practice our own pagan tradition which has elements of Wicca and Shamanism. My primary totem is the Black Jaguar (he connects me to the Mayan Jaguar god). My other important totems are the elephant (she connects me to Lord Ganesha), the lioness (she connects me to Sehkmet), and the tiger (who is very much a non-conformist and who has no connection to any god). I also have a connection to the Norse gods and culture and I have been reading about Asátru but I have no plans to practice it.
I graduated from university this year with a Bachelors of science in Anthropology and Religious Studies (religious studies isn’t theology, with religion taught subjectively from within the religion; rather, it is an objective, non-judgmental look at all religions—in case anyone doesn’t know the distinction). I graduated in June and Skan and I moved in September so I don’t have much to show for myself since I graduated. Currently I am in a sort of floopy place (emotionally) where I suddenly have to redefine myself and I don’t know what I want to do with the rest of my life (career-wise, that is). When I finished school I was completely sick of everything having to do with archaeology, and I was hoping that was just senior-itus, but it’s been long enough I’m wondering if it’s permanent.
Actually, unfortunately enough my car (whom I have often called an old whore and who is currently acting the part) broke down shortly after we arrived. I have attempted to use the time to write, do my arts and crafts, read, and generally take a journey inwards. It has gone only semi-well, as I don’t do well when I have only myself to motivate me and TV is just so damn shiny and causes my brain to make that wonderful humming sound.
